HSDD-20-14 QUCS lab The TDR

• This is an optional lab and is NOT one of the required labs for this semester.
• It does most of what is done in the ADS lab, but with a free simulation tool, QUCS.
• It is remarkable what can be done with a free version of a SPICE simulator
• A simple TDR: the structure, extracting instantaneous impedance
• Different rise times and “impedance”
• Three transmission lines and masking
• Reflections from L, C discontinuities and matching to tlines
• An introduction to “hacking interconnects”
